There are lamps that light a room, and then there are lamps that are worth looking at even when they’re switched off. This is the latter. The base is a tall, tapering cone of rich amber glass — warm honey tones deepening toward the lower section — set on a clear glass foot decorated with a ring of oval lens-shaped indentations that mirror those on the amber body above. The interplay between the warm amber and the clear glass gives the piece a quiet sophistication that is entirely its own.The form and quality of the glass point to Swedish origin from the 1960s or early 1970s, a period when Swedish glassworks — including names like Orrefors — were producing decorative lamp bases of exactly this character: architectural in form, confident in colour, and finished with moulded geometric detail that catches the light from every angle. The lamp carries no maker’s mark, so attribution remains uncertain, but the quality is unambiguous.Condition is excellent, with only the most minor traces of use and no chips, cracks, or damage of any kind. The lamp is sold without shade. E27 bulb.
