A vase designed by Ludwik Fiedorowicz for Huta Staszic, also known as HSG Tarnowiec, is a striking example of Polish artistic glass from the 1970s. Made of transparent, intensely red glass with a high gloss, it impresses with its proportions: a wide, semicircular base smoothly transitions into a slender neck, ending with an impressive, ruffled rim. Three matte white stripes encircle the lower part of the body, and just below the rim, two small white glass applications are placed opposite each other. The lack of visible joints and the uniform, smooth texture emphasize the quality of workmanship. The vase's style refers to the mid-century modern trend: decoration limited to details, highlighted by the strength of colour and lightness of form. The vase has no damage, and the surface remains shiny and well cared for. Condition: good, with no chips or cracks, only typical signs of use for its age. The red glass of this vase carries the voice of Polish optimism of the 1970s – a time when simplicity and intense colour gave everyday life a new rhythm. The geometric line of the design reminds us that this era was not afraid of experiments, and every detail – from the ruffled edge to the white stripes and small applications – seems to be a touch with which the craftsman entrusted his own story to the form. The smooth surface reflects light and surroundings, letting in a subtle, moving glow; even empty, the vase retains the energy of colour and material. The vase can be displayed solo on a low veneered chest of drawers or a light wood countertop to emphasize the saturation of the red and the modernist forms. It goes well with furniture with simple lines characteristic of the mid-century style, as well as with accessories in a reduced palette – black graphic frames, matte ceramics or a light background will emphasize the sculptural quality and colour contrast. In collector's or eclectic interiors, the vase can play the role of a soloist or a partner for other glass works from the 1960s and 1970s, bringing a colour accent and a precise narrative of Polish vintage design.
