Set of 2 Voltaire armchairs and their red fabric footrests.

A set of two Voltaire armchairs and their matching footrests, probably dating from the late 19th or early 20th century, characterized by a high and enveloping backrest as well as curved armrests. Made with a solid wood structure — likely beech or walnut — they are upholstered in a textured red fabric adorned with fine stripes and finished with upholstery nails. This comfortable and warm set will naturally find its place in an eclectic living room or a cozy reading nook. Condition: The furniture is healthy, stable, and perfectly functional. The wood has a warm patina with some superficial micro-scratches from use on the carved parts, and the fabric shows normal signs of use as well as discreet variations in color. These marks of time testify to their authenticity and do not detract from the charm or sturdiness of this set.
