Rare - brutalist double applique by the Parisian workshops of Jean Perzel, massive forged iron structure, double cracked glass and white glass, in very good vintage condition, B22 socket, height of cracked glass: 17 cm, height of white glass: 11 cm. "From 1920 to 1939, Art Deco revolutionised 20th-century architecture and design and saw the birth of the Jean Perzel company, which would leave its mark on the world of lighting and decoration through the creation of light fixtures and furniture in glass and bronze, adorning the most prestigious places. These pieces can be found in the court of the King of the Belgians, at Henry Ford's, or in the Rothschild family home. He was tasked with organising the lighting for the League of Nations in Geneva, the Cathedral of Luxembourg, the Canadian Embassy in The Hague, and the ocean liner Normandie. Jean Perzel participated in various international exhibitions and competitions where he won numerous awards. His notoriety soon allowed him to illuminate the interiors of celebrities and politicians such as the King of Morocco, the King of Siam in Bangkok, the Maharaja of Indore, General de Gaulle, and President Georges Pompidou."
