Ball vase in emerald green sandstone decorated with white cracked by léon pointu. Léon alexandre pointu (1879-1942) trained in the studio of his father, jean pointu (1843-1925), settled in saint-amand-en-puisaye since 1906. At the end of the first world war, he took over his father's studio, under his tutelage, until his death in 1925. In his early days, he continued his father's production, whose forms and enamelling he resumed. He will evolve gradually, with shapes of larger sizes and with enamels in much brighter tones than those used by his father. He also used other techniques, such as that of white cracked (or snakeskin) developed by paul jeanneney (1861-1920). This is the case of this vase, decorated with white and matte cracks, applied in oversized, which contrast with the bright emerald green enamel of its belly. It is signed under the "pointu" database.
