Cornet vase in fine earthenware from Gien, Renaissance decoration — late 19th century

Cornet vase in fine Gien earthenware with polychrome Renaissance decoration: grisaille on a black background, winged grotesques, butterflies, and borders with scrolls. The base of the vase bears the black printed mark of the Gien Faïencerie — an intertwined monogram used since 1875 — along with a handwritten blue mark, presumably a model or internal colour number. The condition is very good. Some light signs of use are visible, without any alteration to the decoration or the ceramic body.
