Antique floral barbotine jug – late 19th century ceramic

An old earthenware jug decorated with relief flowers and foliage. This ceramic piece features a typical polychrome naturalistic decoration from French productions of the late 19th century. The relief of the flowers, the texture of the background, and the sculpted handle give it a lot of charm. The interior is glazed in a beautiful turquoise. Overall good condition for a piece over 100 years old: there is a slight hairline crack inside and fine glaze crazing around the rim, characteristic of antique ceramics and without aesthetic impact once the piece is used as a vase. A decorative piece full of character, perfect repurposed as a vase to hold a few flowers.
