Space Curtain by Paco Rabanne, France circa 1970

The Rideau d'Espace model was designed by Paco Rabanne around 1970. Composed of round chrome-plated plastic plates connected by small metal rings, it demonstrates the designer's research into the use of industrial and modular materials in the decorative world. More than a simple curtain, this supple and shimmering partition captures and reflects light, in the tradition of the monumental Rideau d'Espace installed at UNESCO in 1969, now preserved at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.
