Set of 3 Napoleon III chairs
Set of 3 Napoleon III period chairs, dating from the 19th century. The structure is made of blackened wood with hand-painted gilded highlights forming floral patterns. The seats are made of traditional upholstery (springs and horsehair) and have retained their shape and firmness without sagging. They are covered in a slightly worn original light blue satin striped fabric. The backrest is openwork and shaped, adorned with genuine mother-of-pearl inlays forming bouquets or beaded decorations. They rest on curved legs typical of this period. They are stable, robust, and comfortable. With some signs of use consistent with their age, the overall condition remains very good. Some pieces of mother-of-pearl have disappeared over time, the gilding may be faded, and the fabric shows some marks and stains in places.
