Ceramic dish turned and enamelled paris, decorated with shells and animals of the sea signed suzy coste, second part of the twentieth century. Under the influence of bernard palissy and the rediscovery of his work mid-twentieth century by potters in search of craftsmanship and renewal in ceramics, suzy coste makes various ceramics in slip with the decoration of the sea. Decoration made of slip, brought back elements shaped and enamelled one by one, composed of mussels, starfish and shells, on a background of algae. Enamels from the turquoise basin towards the green, with texture, like sea water. Heel enamels ranging from yellow to a slight shade of blue. A lot of finesse in the work of enamels. Beautiful condition, it seems to me to miss a tip of algae, but blends into the whole and each element type shells are superbly preserved. Refer to photos. Signed at the heel. Diameter 26 cm and height 5 cm. A mold is 5 X 2 X 2 cm.
