Digoin Sarreguemines Atlantic pattern tureen, deep red rose decoration

This elegant tureen, signed Digoin Sarreguemines, belongs to the Atlantic model, one of the manufacturer's beautiful classics from the 1940s to 1960s. It is distinguished by its superb decoration of deep red roses on a slightly ivory background, applied using silkscreen printing with subtle resist techniques that give it a very successful graphic relief. It has a lovely shape on a small foot. The fan-shaped handles, delicately highlighted in red, add to the piece's charm. The lid, with its harmonious curve, features the same floral motif accompanied by a dotted frieze, typical of the Digoin decorative style of this period. Stamped Digoin Sarreguemines – France – Atlantic. A 2 is impressed under the lid. In good vintage condition, with a luminous glaze and remarkably fresh decoration, minor chips on the rim consistent with use, and a patina of age (see photos). Height without lid 11 cm, depth 10 cm, height with lid 5 cm, diameter 23.5 cm, width including handles 30 cm. A statement piece ideal for a contemporary romantic vintage-inspired interior.
