Beautiful oil on canvas mounted on cardboard, depicting a street in the French village of Bavay (in the North of France). It is signed at the top right (difficult to decipher) and dated 1928. This painting is animated by a magnificent summer light! The composition leads us down a street lined with houses featuring light and colourful façades, guiding the eye towards the village church. The artist has worked with a very free and expressive touch, with a lot of visible texture in the sky, façades, and pavement. The shades of blue and pink give the whole piece a very bright and charming atmosphere! The antique frame is made of carved wood in gold and black, decorated with small stylised shells. The whole piece is in its original condition, with signs of age and wear, old patina, and missing wood at the corners of the frame. Please take a good look at the photos in detail, as they are part of the product description! 👉 Keep in mind that this is an old painting, and it may have signs of age and imperfections that make it a unique piece with a story! Dimensions with the frame: 45 cm high / 37 cm long / 2 cm deep. Total weight excluding packaging: 660 grams. This artwork will be perfect for adding a French and authentic touch to a contemporary or more classic interior! Feel free to contact me if you have any questions; I will be happy to respond! 🙂.
