This piece of furniture was originally used during the wedding ceremony, carried in procession using a bamboo rod slipped into the holes provided for this purpose on both sides of the chest. The very carved ends are a sign that this chest belonged to a wealthy family. The gifts given to the bride and groom were placed in the trunk. Very little restored, this chest which can also be used as a bench, is in perfect condition. You can use it as a shoe cabinet in your entryway but also at the end of a bed in a bedroom to store blankets or cushions.
