Cod 10573 antique Italian painting from the 18th century. Oil on canvas depicting the biblical subject Joseph and Potiphar's wife, of good pictorial hand. Beautifully measured and pleasantly furnished painting adorned with a non-contemporary, carved and lacquered frame. Antique painting inspired by the famous work of Giuseppe Bilivert (1585-1644) now exhibited at the Palazzo Barberini in Rome. The biblical story tells of the wife of the rich tumult who tried in vain to seduce the young servant Joseph. The woman refused, and in revenge, she accused him of violence in front of her husband in order to have Joseph imprisoned in the Pharaoh's prisons. A work of pleasant perspective, full of detail and excellent dynamism, for antique dealers and furniture. Painting that has undergone a conservative restoration, relining, replacement of the frame and recovery of the color in some areas (see photo). Painting in good overall condition.
