A large, round, hollow dish from the Gien faience factory, the Pigalle model. A stylized tribute to the timeless, urban, and poetic Paris, particularly the Pigalle district, famous for its bohemian atmosphere and rich visual heritage. This model offers a stylized vision of Paris, between cobblestones, boulevards, and foliage, in a brown-green palette evoking the mineral and vegetal elegance of the capital. Emblematic graphic elements: the boulevards in the form of geometric lines or stylized tracings, evoking the Haussmannian network. The trees are treated in a graphic manner, embodying the plant alignments typical of the great Parisian avenues. And the ever-present Parisian cobblestones, suggested by textures or regular patterns that echo the stone sidewalks. Stamped Gien France, 1950s period: the Pigalle decor is an example of Gien's commitment to modernist creations, often inspired by architecture and urban life, characteristic of the post-war period. Good condition, some chips on the edge, signs of use and time. Diameter 26 cm, height 4 cm.
