Fledermaus Chairs attributed to Josef Hoffmann, Austria, 1905, Set of 2

Vintage pair of chairs in bentwood designed by the illustrious Viennese architect Josef Hoffmann for the Cabaret Fledermaus in Vienna in 1905. In their sober and unmistakable style, they represent an iconic example of Viennese and international design. This piece is attributed to the aforementioned designer/maker but lacks an attribution mark. It dates from the production period 1890 to 1919 and was manufactured in Austria. The chairs are in very good condition with minor fading and slight traces of use.
