Jean Gerbino (1876-1966) Vallauris – Mosaic earthenware vase with floral decoration

Ceramic vase by Jean Gerbino from Vallauris, made of polychrome mosaic clay. Ovoid shape with a narrow neck ending in a wide rounded lip. The body features a stylised floral decoration composed of geometric and plant motifs in green, blue, beige, brown, black, and white tones. The neck and upper part are also crafted in coloured clay mosaic. Gerbino's characteristic technique creates a decoration directly in the material, with clays of different colours assembled and then worked before firing. Gerbino / Vallauris marks under the base, visible in the photographs. Dimensions: Width: 10 cm. Height: 13 cm. 0.4 kg. Condition consistent with the photographs, with signs of age and manufacturing.
