Napoleon III chair stamped

Charming antique chair in carved and varnished solid wood, Napoleon III style (late 19th century). The backrest features elegant openwork and curved scrollwork typical of this period. The painted black fillets emphasize the lines of the base and backrest. The seat is made of natural cane, in good condition, typical of state or dining room chairs of the late 19th century. Under the seat is the stamped mark: Under the seat is the stamped mark: "J. JEAN & J. ROYAL – in FLERS (Orne)", attesting to its manufacture in Normandy in the late 19th / early 20th century.
