Beautiful ceramic vase with a lovely ochre gradient color made by the Veb Haldensleben factory in the GDR. With original label. Dimensions: H. 13.5 cm ø 12 cm in perfect condition. About Veb Haldensleben: Veb Haldensleben was created from the Carstens Uffrecht factory in 1945. Veb is the German acronym for "Volkseigener Betrieb," meaning "People's Owned Enterprise," referring to the state-owned enterprises of the GDR. Veb Haldensleben played an important role in the history of East German ceramics. It operated until the reunification of Germany in 1990. Collectors of East German ceramics often value items from manufacturers like Veb Haldensleben for their historical significance and unique aesthetic. The era in which these ceramics were produced, particularly the 1950s and 1970s, saw a blend of traditional craftsmanship and modernist influences, resulting in pieces that are both visually appealing and reflective of the cultural and artistic context of East Germany during this period.
