Set of 18 slip knife rests modeled by the ceramic artist Denise Picart in the 1940s, probably in Valaurie in the Drôme where she worked in the workshop of her famous cousin Paul Pouchol. Denise Picart, whose production was rare and delicate, collaborated with the Primavera du Printemps workshops directed by Colette Guesden, her emblematic works of the rare feminine productions of the time, are featured in the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. These delightful and delicate slips are in very good condition with the exception of 3 pieces with missing foliage (see the 2 penultimate photos which group together the 3 defective pieces) and a micro-chip on the reverse of another piece, invisible when placed. Each piece is engraved with the initials dp 4 varieties of fruit: cherries, strawberries, pears, peaches, x4 or x5. These small pieces are currently unique on the market. They will be meticulously packaged per unit and protected by several layers of bubble wrap if shipping desired. Visit my shop for other charming and rare tableware items!
