Double-sided oil by paulette genet (1890-1983) french school

Rare double-sided oil painting from the modernist era, created by the French artist Paulette GENET (1890–1983), a student of Pierre Montezin and a regular exhibitor at the Salon des Artistes Français. This rigid isorel panel has the exceptional feature of containing two distinct completed works: On the front: A superb autumn landscape depicting a perspective of a tree-lined avenue in a park. Magnificent textured painting technique with a palette knife and strong impasto. Signed "P. Genet" in the bottom right. On the back: A charming riverside or lacustrine estuary landscape, treated with the same subtle colour palette and a generous knife technique. Presence of a historical exhibition inventory number (255) inscribed in pencil. The work is presented in its period Montparnasse-style frame made of off-white stained wood with a gold trim, equipped with its original attachment blocks for easily changing the display orientation. ⚠️ Frame condition: The paint layer of both paintings is intact and in excellent condition, very bright. The wooden frame shows natural signs of age with two significant assembly cracks at the upper corners (the wood is separating on two sides). It remains very stable but should be handled from underneath. 📐 Overall dimensions: 67 cm X 49 cm (Panel only: 51 cm X 33 cm).
