A plate like no other: this hollow piece signed Poterie de Gruyère is the fruit of Swiss artisanal know-how born in 1930 under the impetus of the potter Pierre Messerli. Each piece from this workshop is shaped by hand from clay from central Switzerland, then decorated one by one, according to the inspiration of the artisan. This plate presents a hypnotic spiral pattern in green, orange and brick tones, hand-painted with a freedom of gesture that makes each decoration unique. The decoration is applied on dry earth, then the piece is fired a first time (biscuit firing), glazed, and returned to the kiln to reveal its final shine. Stamped: the stamp "Made in Gruyère" accompanied by the small stylized character with a feather, typical of the Messerli signature, completes the authenticity of this rare pottery. Diameter: 25 cm Beautiful vintage condition, very shiny, micro-scratches from use and a small chip on the edge (see photos). A piece to hang on the wall or to use as a pocket emptier, fruit tray or decorative object with raw and authentic charm.
