Photography photo studio Bombay 1980

Photograph taken in the early 2000s in the gomes studio, in bombay on kalbadevi road. The studio was founded by the owner's grandfather, mr gomes, at the end of the 19th century. Mr gomes' children chose to pursue a career in another profession and in another country, and the studio soon disappeared. Hence the romantic impression of abandonment and decay that this photograph gives. 30 X 40 cm pigment print made in our parisian workshop by our master shooter on paper 260g archival ultrasmooth. Limited edition of 36 copies titled and numbered in the pencil margin.
