Elegant with their slender green stems, these Alsace wine glasses will be perfect for an aperitif or a meal with friends. But why are their stems green exactly Legend has it that these glasses appeared in the 19th century. At that time, winegrowers prioritized quantity over quality, which gave rise to wines with green highlights, a sign of the grapes' lack of maturity. To mask this "defect", winegrowers served their wine in glasses with green stems, claiming that their slightly greenish color came from the glass and not the wine!
