Swivel office chair Strafor with chrome metal and black faux leather.

This very beautiful and comfortable swivel armchair, produced by Strafor OEM (Les Forges de Strasbourg - Modern Economic Organisation) in the 1960s or 70s, features a lovely modernist design with its square-section chrome steel tube structure and black faux leather upholstery. I couldn't find the name of the designer, but Strafor collaborated with renowned designers. Under the seat, there is a metal label reading "OEM Strafor" along with the number 7404 and even a chalk mark, probably the signature of the person who inspected the chair when it left the factory! It is equipped with four slightly articulated chrome steel glides that allow the chair to adapt to all types of flooring and remain perfectly stable. It is height-adjustable (by turning the large cylindrical piece on the chair's axis). The structure is in good condition, solid and stable, with no corrosion, but there is slight pitting or clouding in places and a small chip on the chrome on one of the glides. The seat is structurally in good condition, still well-shaped and cushy, but the faux leather has a small hole on the front left corner. The backrest has a tear on the lower face that has been roughly sewn up; the stitching seems quite sturdy and is not very visible as it is located under the backrest. Each armrest has a tear with significant loss and a few other less visible defects (abrasions, small non-puncturing tears, scratches). Update on 16/04/24: a small crack has appeared on the faux leather of the seat, see the last photo (this chair is "stored" in our living room, my daughter sometimes kneels on the seat and spins the chair around ;) it's so much fun ;) This chair deserves a lovely restoration. It measures 57.5 cm in width, approximately 49 cm in total depth, and about 44 cm in seat depth. Its seat height is adjustable between 39 cm and 50 cm. The height at the backrest ranges from 69 cm to 80 cm.
