Suspension lantern in gilded bronze and engraved glass, Louis XVI style.

Suspended lantern in gilded bronze and cut glass, inspired by Louis XVI or Directoire styles. The shaft is adorned with scrolls and stylised foliage and features a blown glass globe decorated with engravings of cross patterns and rosettes. The mount is made of chiselled bronze retaining a beautiful gilding. Complete, with its original chain and matching ceiling cup. Functional electricity but needs to be reviewed for safety (old installation). Very good overall condition, with some signs of use consistent with age, no chips on the glass. Height of the lantern: 40 cm; total height with chain and cup: 67 cm. Diameter of the glass: 17 cm. French work, circa 1920-1930.
