Maison Lecan presents this 1970s solid elm coffee table, a piece with a direct and assertive character in the style of Charlotte Perriand and Pierre Chapo — this French rural modernism that has made raw material and precise form its only arguments. The rectangular top with widely rounded corners is one of the most successful details of the piece. This treatment of the corners, far from being trivial, softens the silhouette while reinforcing the impression of mass and solidity — a tension between the power of volume and the softness of the curve that is characteristic of the best design of this period. The solid elm, with its dark and tight grains, chocolate and tobacco reflections, reveals a dense and warm material of beautiful depth. The surface, crafted in the Maison Lecan workshops, enhances the wood without altering it. The four cylindrical legs made of solid pine, robust and well-proportioned, anchor the table firmly to the ground. The dialogue between the density of the elm and the lighter texture of the pine creates a slight material variation that discreetly enriches the whole without complicating it. With its length of 200 cm, a low height of 40 cm, and a weight of approximately 50 kg, this table naturally asserts itself in a generous living room, a loft, or any interior that appreciates objects with weight — both literally and figuratively. Reference LDP: 20260317-003. Dimensions: L 200 X D 79 X H 40 cm — Weight: approximately 50 kg.
