Secessionist cake stand from the early 20th century, made in Vienna, crafted from two noble materials: white porcelain and silver-plated brass. The wide, flat surface attracts attention with its soft white, broken by a symmetrical, lavender-blue floral motif enriched with subtle green details. The rim and base are made of polished brass covered with silver, with a delicately outlined patina and a gentle, subdued shine. The solid construction and proportional elements—from the conical, wide base to the smooth transition to the top—fit into Viennese Secessionist design of the period, where refined simplicity replaces excessive ornamentation. The combination of porcelain and metal was executed precisely, with no signs of modern intervention. The condition of the cake stand is described as good: there are visible minor surface scratches and slight dulling of the metal, but there are no losses or cracks in the porcelain. The form of the cake stand seems to whisper the story of urban Vienna at the beginning of the 20th century—a place where the geometric discipline of the Secession met the lightness of iris motifs and pastel tones. The slender yet stable base and restrained decoration evoke the atmosphere of a Viennese café, where everyday elegance did not require flashy embellishments. Every detail, from the soft white of the porcelain to the delicately polarised shine of the silver-plated metal, speaks of the pursuit of balanced harmony of form and function—as if this object still remembers meetings over coffee and sweet desserts. The cake stand can be used as a central point of a traditionally set table or as a single, sculptural accent in a modern arrangement. It is worth pairing it with transparent Venetian glass or porcelain with a classic, subdued pattern to emphasise its Secessionist origin. Eclectic interiors or those with a touch of historical modernism will allow the delicate colours and geometric base to resonate; in a raw minimalist setting, the cake stand will set a point of balance and a subtle reference to old table traditions.
