Sofa Basket Louis XVI Style of the 19th Century in Carved and Gilded Wood (to be reupholstered)

Period: ca. 2nd half 19th century. This basket sofa is of very high quality. The care with which the small florets and garlands of laurels have been carved on the back frame is magnificent. The armrests are carved with acanthus leaves. The wood retains traces of the original gilding and has a very beautiful patina. The feet are fluted and join the belt with rosette cubes. Probably made of beech wood. Condition: Good except for the fact that it needs to be refilled/reupholstered. Small slot between the back assembly is left armrest (but stable). Patina in correspondence with age; thinned gilding. Dimensions: see photo. TO PICK UP in GENVAL-BELGIUM.
