"the uglyest chair" used by national education... That is what a minister at the time would have said! In the early 1950s, france was in the midst of a reconstruction and sought to equip its schools with a stackable and robust chair. Thus, mullca imposed its chairs with welded tubular metal frame and its moulded plywood seat and back to all french schools. First the mullca 511 chair in the early 1950s, then the mullca 510 in 1964. These school chairs, which were designed for their practicality, have since become cult objects of the vintage years. There are 42 chairs available. The structure is made of brown tubular metal, the seat and back are plywood and are riveted to the structure. They are in good condition overall. Note, however, that some have slight lack of tackle, and others some chewing gum stuck under the seat!; -).
