We are delighted to offer for sale this antique French Louis window seat or bench made of painted oak, featuring a superb embroidered covering in gold and silver thread. This very rare and collectible salon seat has its original patina with beautifully aged old paint in a broken white colour with golden accents. The upholstery is more recent and of the highest quality, sparkling with gold and silver leaf threads. The seat is traditionally Victorian with spiral springs, jute webbing, and straps, providing optimal comfort. In terms of condition, little work has been needed; it is in good condition.
