Jérôme Massier and Pierre Perret, Vallauris circa 1900. Complete in enameled ceramic, torso column and flowerpot. Turquoise blue tones gradient towards brown/red. Planter decorated with twisted gadroons, fitted with two handles. Good general condition despite several defects in the enamel and two cracks on the edge of the planter (see photos) Stamp “j.massier fils – vallauris / pierre perret” The massiers (jérôme, clément, delphin, cedric) are a dynasty of ceramists who go back beyond the French Revolution and who played a key role in the renaissance of Vallauris ceramics. Jérôme Massier 1850 – 1926. Pierre Perret: he worked in Vallauris with Clement Massier from 1895, then with Jérôme Massier whose factory he acquired in 1898. Total height: 115 cm. Column height: 68 cm. Inner diameter of the pot cover: 25 cm.
