Dove ashtray in brass, Sabra, Israel, mid 20th century.

Ashtray, catch-all or a vintage pipe rest (1950s/60s) in the shape of a dove, made of hammered and patinated brass. This type of artisanal craft was popularised in the mid-20th century during the modernist movement in Israel, particularly by the Sabra workshop in Israel, which is embossed on the bird's tail. The dove's head features a lovely natural green patina. The signature under the base is accompanied by the model number (40). In excellent condition. It has not been used as an ashtray but as a decorative object. Dimensions: 17.5/7.5cm, height 5.5cm.
