Old Berber storage chest, carved and hand painted 50s

Old Berber chest from Morocco. Complex and highly detailed exterior pattern. Meticulous work. Both artisanal is very refined. Very decorative. Original shape with its carved lid both rounded and raised and surrounded by a frieze. The interior is also painted. Paint is peeling in some places (see photo) The chest dates from the beginning of the twentieth century. Very well preserved. 2 small paint chips on top. See photos. There is a wedge on the back of the trunk to support the lid when it is lifted (see last photo) which keeps the trunk open in decoration. More photos on demand. Size: Height 28cm. Width 33cm.
