A graphic Chinese blue and white plate with a radiating pattern: rows of tongue-shaped brushstrokes radiate from the centre to the rim. At its heart a dark blue medallion with a reserved, stylised ribbon motif, surrounded by a cloud collar. On the base the shop mark 永和 (Yonghe, ‘eternal harmony’). This is South Chinese provincial porcelain from the 19th century, made for the Asian market; the plate is fairly deep (4.8 cm). The rhythm of the rays and the deep cobalt give this plate an almost modern, graphic look. It is also in good condition and a generous size. Thanks to its graphic decoration, the plate fits perfectly in a modern, Scandinavian or Japandi interior, but also in a classic wall arrangement. Its depth also makes it usable as a fruit bowl or vide-poche. Condition: good; no chips, hairline cracks or restorations visible; a small black firing spot in the medallion (photos 1 and 2), a few glaze pits, iron-red specks on the base and foot ring (photos 4 and 5), slightly uneven glaze at the rim (photo 3).
