This magnificent colonial ball comes from the santa fé series. It was marketed around 1994, and was made by hand, by a master potter. The particularity of this ball is that it is no longer manufactured by the faïenceries and enamels of longwy, which increases its value over the years. It is in perfect condition, and has no shine. The patterns of this ball move away from the usual floral decorations, opting for a lunar and cloudy landscape with multiple colors. It was during the 1930s that maurice paul chevallier designed the very first colonial ball of the émaux de longwy factories. The objective was to revive the faience factories, weakened by the stock market crash of 1929. One hundred years later, the faience factories are inscribed on the french intangible cultural heritage, and the colonial balls are still produced, and sell for several thousand euros, or even several tens of thousands of euros for the most prestigious and worked.
