3 chairs model 103 with a lattice seat by René Gabriel, 1940s

Exceptional set of three 103 lattice chairs by René Gabriel in solid beech, from the 1940s. This model was the first version of the chair designed by René Gabriel to be part of the "furniture for the disaster-stricken". Its production in lattice proved particularly tedious to manufacture in the urgent context of the time, and the lattice seat was quickly abandoned in favour of the slatted version, which was much simpler for the appointed cabinetmakers to produce. This is why it is so difficult today to find these versions, which are as rare as they are elegant... Good condition for their age, with good structural stability. Very beautiful patina of time.
