The height 59 cm includes the lamp base + shade, the diameter 52 cm corresponds to the widest part of the shade. Alain Thomas was born on February 14, 1942 in Nantes in Loire-Atlantique. Self-taught, he began painting in 1962. His pictorial universe, colorful and imbued with poetry, is composed of animals from all over the world. In 2003, Alain Thomas was recognized in the French contemporary art world as a leader in 'naïve-primitive' painting. His highly personalized style has allowed him, over a career spanning more than forty years, to illustrate around twenty books, including several children's stories, monographs, bestiaries, and bibliophile books. Successfully exhibited in Paris, New York, and Tokyo, Alain Thomas's paintings now adorn prestigious galleries.
