19th-century oak chest with high legs

Solid oak chest, France, 19th century. Panelled case with moulded panels on three sides, flat lid with iron hinges, uprights extended into high feet with a low crosspiece cut in a scroll shape. Bare interior, base made of planks. Oak with a dark brown patina, lid with an old moisture damage on the reverse and a crack, one corner of the top worn; the chest is stable, the closure without a lock. Wooden chest, for blankets or rustic bed end. Dimensions: Width: 118 cm. Height: 73 cm. Depth: 49 cm.
