Pair antique solid carved oak gothic pew book stands

This is a pair of old antique pews or book stands which were originally from st mary the virgin in denbury, south devon. The pews are made of solid oak and are very heavy and well made with gothic carved ends and sloping tops. They could be used as benches as they are quite a good height for use as seats. They are similar in size and one has some old graffiti to the underside of the seat with the date 1842. Condition. The pews has been checked over in our workshop, the wood has been treated for wood worm, there was quite a lot of evidence of this on the undersides. The pews are sturdy and solid, one looks slightly twisted and there various small areas of damage here and there. Measurements. Pew one. Height-59cms to top, 50.5cms to seat. Width-150cms. Depth-39.5cms. Pew two. Height-57cms to top, 50.5cms to seat. Width-146cms. Depth-40cms. The measurements are taken at the widest points.
