Carpet azilal 215 x 95cm

Pretty Azilal rug with rare patterns, 6 crosses in sublime colors. The crosses in Berber culture are not linked to the Christian cross, but Berber women weave them on their carpets to protect their families from the evil eye. This rug is entirely handmade and is 100% natural wool which gives it softness and comfort. The natural wool gives this delicate cream colour, which brings out the pretty colours of the 6 crosses framed by brown lines. Important: This is a vintage rug, it was not made to be sold but was made for private use before I bought it. It is however extremely well preserved. Finally, you can use this mat on both sides, one for winter and the other for summer. Dimensions: 215X95cm. Origin: Middle Atlas, Morocco. Vintage rug from the 80s. About me: I am passionate about Berber rugs and Moroccan craftsmanship being myself Moroccan, I always hunt my rugs in small villages or towns, I never go looking for carpets made in chains in large cities like Marrakech or Essaouira.
