Magnificent marine landscape, oil on canvas, by the painter Lido Bettarini (1927-2019) Dated and signed in 1976 (signature and date on the back) Framed under glass in a silver wooden frame. Dimensions of the canvas: 70 X 50 cm. Son of the ceramist Gino Pozzi, he worked in his studio and then studied at the Academy under the direction of Giorgio Settala and Ottone Rosai, where he graduated in 1960. The previous year, he inaugurated his first solo exhibition at the Officine Galileo in Florence, a space he returned to in 1960 for an exhibition dedicated to his mentor Ottone Rosai, as well as Silvio Loffredo, Renzo Grazzini, and Bruno Rosai. His first catalogue dates from 1964. Among his most notable works is the official portrait of Pope John Paul II in 1986. He has been praised by critics.
