An iconic cocktail cabinet "Times" designed by Torbjørn Afdal for Bruksbo, Norway. Considered one of the most beautiful modern Scandinavian bar cabinets, this piece combines elegant proportions with exceptional functionality. The cabinet is beautifully veneered in richly figured rosewood with striking matched grain throughout. Afdal's sculptural recessed handles and his refined minimalist design make it a remarkable example of mid-century Norwegian craftsmanship. Behind the double doors lies a carefully designed interior with bottle shelves lined with green felt, a sliding drawer, spacious shelves, brass retaining rails, and dedicated storage space for bottles and bar accessories. The black laminate top unfolds to create a generous serving surface, transforming the cabinet into a fully functional home bar. Designer: Torbjørn Afdal. Manufacturer: Bruksbo, Norway. Date: circa 1960s. Materials: Rosewood veneer, brass, laminate, felt. In very good vintage condition with light signs of age-related wear, consistent with careful use. The rosewood has developed a beautiful patina, the interior is clean, and all doors, drawers, and the folding top operate smoothly. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they are part of the description. The original manufacturer's label from Mellemstrands Trævareindustri (Bruksbo), Norway, is still present, confirming the authenticity of the cabinet.
