✨ Authentic engraving from 1849 (177 years ago!). This is not a modern reproduction, but a genuine antique engraving. ✨ Subject: Blackbird. 🌿 Artist: Edouard Travies. 🌿 Size: 15 X 24 cm. 🌿 Edition: 1849. 🌿 Condition: very good, with some usual signs of age. The artist of the work is Édouard Traviès de Villers (1809 - 1876), a French animal painter, illustrator, and lithographer, particularly known for his representations of birds and insects. The engraving is taken from the Atlas of the Natural History Dictionary by Charles d’Orbigny, a 19th-century scientific work that brings together plates and detailed descriptions of the animal and plant kingdoms. Combining scientific rigor and artistic quality, each engraving accurately illustrates natural diversity, making this dictionary a pedagogical and decorative document, ideal for framing and collecting. The male blackbird is recognised by its glossy black plumage and bright yellow beak, while the female is a more discreet dark brown. Its elegant appearance is accompanied by a melodious and powerful song. Its familiar presence makes it an emblematic bird of gardens. 🌸 Secure shipping: Rigid protection to ensure the condition upon arrival. 🌸 Bulk purchase: Discounts available for the purchase of multiple plates.
