Georgian Cheese Coaster or Fruits Bowl

A fine Georgian Mahogany cheese coaster or cradle which features a slated bateau design and would accommodate a sizeable Stilton 40 cm or more. This is a nicely crafted piece typical of a 19th century gentry residence used to pass breads and cheeses amongst dining guests. Perfect as a fruit bowl in a modern setting, this piece is also ideal for collectors and lovers of distinctive antiques. Condition is very good, wear commensurate with use and age, having slight gap on base where floor panels butt together. Length 41 cm, depth 20 cm height 18 cm.
