Old wooden console – Art Deco style

This console table with Art Deco lines, made entirely of wood (beech), is antique. It has been sanded and cleaned (as it was painted), then treated against wood-boring insects (with a natural product free of harmful components), before the application of a finishing oil with plant-based and bio-sourced components, giving the wood a matte and silky feel. It is stable and robust. To preserve the authenticity and the lovely natural patina of this antique piece, the irregularities of the wood and any traces of the old paint (there are very few) have been retained under the finish. There are some marks from old woodworm holes (mainly on the edge and the back of the piece, shown in the photo); most have been filled in and serve as an additional mark of the authenticity and age of this furniture.
