Set of 4 deep plates "grès du Marais", France. The grès du Marais originates in France, in the hamlet of Andrevilliers located in Saint-Georges-sur-Eure (28190) near Chartres, where the Poteries du Marais company was founded in the late 1950s. It is a rustic and natural-looking stoneware, characterised by warm tones (beige, brownish, russet, or sandy). The set consists of 4 plates featuring a deep brown, earthy, organic base and a rim of approximately 2 cm in thickness in a bright, rich orange colour. The 4 plates are noticeably different, with each plate being unique. One of them has tones leaning more towards brown than orange. Three are in good condition and show no cracks or chips, just some marks from rubbing. One of them has a significant crack visible in the photos. Other Marais ceramics in my listings. D 19 cm. H 4 cm.
