A transparent vintage 'savoy' vase created by finnish architect alvar aalto (1898-1976) in 1936 for iitala finland, in moulded blown crystalline glass. In excellent condition, screen-printed underneath alvar aalto, original label in place. Some scratches of use underneath. An iconic vase, which revolutionized the art of glass and the design of vases during its presentation at the universal exhibition of 1937. Still produced by iitala. Also available: another 'savoy' vase, made of two-layer white opaline glass.
