Danish “2008 L” floor lamps by Schmidt's Lampedesign, made in the 1960s with a brass structure, white-lacquered metal bases and adjustable shades. Produced in Denmark by Schmidt's Lampedesign, the “2008 L” floor lamps combine a slender brass structure with white-lacquered metal elements. The vertical stem rises from a circular base and terminates in a flexible section that allows the shade to be adjusted and the light to be directed. The shade combines a cylindrical section with a truncated-cone element, both lacquered in white, with the switch integrated directly into the body. The contrast between the warm tone of the brass and the light surfaces emphasizes the geometry of the different elements and the slender profile of the lamps. A 1960s design in which adjustability, precise forms and the combination of materials define the essential character of Danish design of the period. Good condition. It may show signs of age.
