Pair of 1950s "Sun" armchairs

Note that the lower structure is intact, which is very rare on these models. The legs have slight pitting, beautiful patina. Janine Abraham (1929-2005) and Dirk Jan Rol (1924-2017) met in 1947 at the École des Beaux-Arts. They remained partners in life and work for forty-eight years, until Janine's death. She was one of the first French women designers, a pioneer in furniture design.
